SO BORED!!!

SO...I'm in class and probably shouldn't be updating my blog but I am anyway. I already wrote a one page paper for another class, so I'm not that bad, right? My professor is gone and so we have a student teacher.

Anyway, life has been busy as usual. It feels like there is never enough time to do what I want to-including updating my blog. I have a ton of pictures and fun stories to tell you, so hold on just a little longer! Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend!

Well the media is working again and we're watching an incredibly cheesy video. Pray that I can make it through this class with out falling asleep!

Home Remedies

So yesterday out of the blue my throat started hurting-way bad! It kept me from sleeping a lot of the night and then I had a massive headache when I woke up this morning. My mother in law has introduced me to a great home remedy for sore throats so I thought I would share since sore throat season is rapidly approaching.
Simply mix this with warm water, and gargle it. I swallow a few sips before I gargle and find almost instant relief from a scratchy throat. Plus this concoction also helps kill the bacteria in your throat. So what is it that is the answer to all your sore throat problems????

HONEY!!!
I don't really like how honey tastes, but it is a ton better than nasty medicine that serves the same purpose, or gargling salt water. When it's diluted with hot water it's not so bad and totally worth it. I think you can also swallow a spoon full of it plain-but that kinda grosses me out. Anywho, if you choose to gargle or drink it I would recommend doing it a couple times a day until the soreness goes away. Hopefully this helps some of you guys out this fall/winter!

Old News (but I can't help myself)

I know that Mother's Day was months ago-but I found the pictures and really wanted to share so here is a little bit of old news. Eric got up that morning all excited to give me my gifts. I told him I wasn't even a mom yet, but he didn't care.
I know that the day Eric gets me a store bought card is the day he doesn't love me anymore. In my hands is my homemade card and Mary Poppins for our Disney collection.
I am holding a ball with a note that reads "This is the pregnancy ball. Simply put it under your shirt and Eric will do things for you! Just as he would if you were really pregnant! *Valid only Mother's Day 2010!"
This is me trying on the pregnancy ball...convincing? Probably not...but funny? I think so!
He's going to be such a good daddy someday! Hahahaha
This is Eric accomplishing his first task which was making breakfast for me and his mom.
This is me attempting to eat breakfast...I don't know how real pregnant women do it! I felt like I couldn't get close enough to the table! I eventually got a napkin to cover my belly because I was scared of dripping syrup on Eric's shirt.
And Finally this is our little family picture before we went to church. Precious, huh?

It was a really fun day. We had some good laughs with my present! Eric is such a fun husband! My life would not be the same (or as entertaining) without him!

Just Talking...

I don't really have much to say, but I was just thinking today about how lucky I am to have such amazing family and friends! I am so grateful for all the wonderful people in my life...I really couldn't be more blessed. You all mean a lot to me and I want you to know, each and everyone of you, that you have changed my life for the better. I'm glad I get to spend my journey with each of you in it.

Sweet Dreams.

The Solution to All Our Problems...Or Maybe Just One...

So the other night I was sitting on the couch in the living room studying while my awesome husband who had done all the laundry including our bedsheets that day was in the bedroom making our bed. All of the sudden I hear "BERT!!!" (for those of you who don't know this is Eric's favorite nickname for me derived from my other nickname "Hilbert"-don't ask me where it came from, and don't ask him because he doesn't know either haha) "I have a solution to our problem!" I was confused because I didn't wasn't aware that we had a problem. He comes marching out with a big smile on his face and this picture....
...Ever since we've been married Eric and I have had a really hard time finding a happy medium between hot and cold. I have always been way too hot and Eric freezes at night, a little backward from the normal couple, right? So, the solution? Eric made the bed so that it's split in half, I get the thinner quilt and he gets the thick down comforter...as seen in the above picture. (You can also see that we really need a bed skirt...how embarrassing!)

I knew I married that man for a reason!!!

Oh Where Has Summer Gone?

This summer has flown by! We, as always, have been busy. We were both in school so we didn't get to play out in the sun as much as we would have liked (as evidenced by our pasty skin) and we it feels like we didn't see much of each other. Eric was working hard in his anatomy class, I was in school too, and we were both working. Some days we literally saw each other for maybe an hour and that was about it! We had a short break and we did get to spend a little time together and with some friends. Floating the river, at least once, has apparently become a summer tradition. The water is FREEZING but in the hot summer air it feels great-once you go numb :0)
This was BEFORE we went down...This time we
followed the
example of Katherine and Matt and bought water-shoes and
yes they do match!

I'm kind of
sad that we didn't get a picture of the boats filled with the Asian tourists. They have river
guides take large groups of people in these big boats, and that day there were two big groups of Asian tourists on these things. They were really fun to watch because we all went down in these tubes and here they are in these huge boat things, every time the kids saw the "rapids" approaching they would get super excited and watch us and laugh every time
we got splashed. Then they would go over them and scream and laugh...I guess when you're a kid even little rapids seem HUGE...they were really cute.
We didn't get a picture of them but we did get a picture of this awesome dog. We got out on the side so we could all regroup and this dog swam out of the river and played with us. He was super strong and super fun.
We all made it to the end with only minor bumps and bruises.

It was a ton of fun! Now the break is over and we're back to school! But looking forward to more fun this fall and winter.

Ok, it's time to get serious!

I keep on promising that I'm going to be more faithful about doing this more regularly, but then I never do! Our first problem was that we didn't have internet in our first apartment-so we were at the mercy of my in-laws, friends, and school...but who wants to sit at their computer when hanging out with the fam, or friends, and heaven forbid we have to stay on campus any longer! But we'll have internet in our new "apartment" or better yet garage (which we move into in less than a week!) Second problem is there never seems to be enough time! But I'm going to start making time...in fact I got on originally tonight to post about my hilarious Mother's Day experience, but realized I haven't uploaded the pictures from my camera to my computer yet! Bummer! So even though it will be a week late, I'll get on and post them tomorrow...I think it's that funny!

Anyway, Eric's home so I'm going to go hang out with him! Much love!
